REALLY?!!!

If you clutch your steering wheel too tight while driving through the snowy canyon....you might really injure your finger (like have a small crack in the bone) and have to immobilize it by wrapping it up!! It makes typing a 10 page paper a new and exciting experience!!........PS, really? I'm the only person this would ever happen to!!

Don't Spit into da Wind.

So this happens to me far more often than I would like to admit.....

I love the mountains and living at the mouth of Logan Canyon is such a dream for me! When I have the time and the weather is decent, my favorite thing to do is ride my bike to First Dam (the mouth of Logan Canyon) and then I run the Bonneville Shoreline Trail from Logan Canyon to Green Canyon and back, then I ride my bike home. When I exercise I tend to spit a lot and the wind from the canyon poses a problem. When I run I do fine because I always spit to the side because I don't want to step in it. But the past few times I've gotten on my bike after running and I'm zooming down the hill to get home, I forget. I get a huge "loogie" and just spit! As soon as I do this I think to myself "Really Robyn? Do you ever learn?!" Some of you may already know that I'm "legally blind" in my left eye due to amblyopia (lazy eye) so I depend heavily on the eyesight of my right eye. The answer to your question is, yes. I spit into the wind and my loogie came right back and got me in my good eye. The fact that the sun was setting and blinding wasn't helping matters much either. I don't know how I pulled it off, but I didn't wreck and I was able to stop and remove the spit from my face. REALLY Robyn?!

Thanksgivin' Celebration!!

On Saturday my friend, Brady, had a Thanksgiving Celebration. We got to dress up as Pilgrims and Indians, ate food, and had a picture-drawing contest. It was hilarious!! Here are some photos!!

I Wanna Hold Yer Hand

I'm dating a boy named Cody and he is absolutely HILARIOUS!! Here is just one example.....we had been hanging out every night for 2 1/2 weeks when he finally held my hand, but the way he did it is probably the best story ever!!

We were watching a movie at his place, sitting shoulder to shoulder and sharing a blanket- conditions are perfect for hand holding. After 20 minutes of him not doing anything, I unconsciously folded my arms because it was more comfortable. When I realized what I was doing I immediately placed my hand where he could grab it. He didn't. Again I caught myself with my arms folded and I fixed it. This happened a few times.....Finally after watching the movie for almost an hour and me folding and unfolding my arms, Cody turned to me and said....

"So I'm just going to put my hand here (as he placed it on my knee) with my palm up and you can do what you want with it, it's up to you!" I about peed my pants!! Just the way he said it....Of course I took his hand and then he said "Man are you impossible to hold hands with!" I then tried telling him that I was waiting for him to take my hand and he never did, but then he got me by letting go of my hand and folding his arms and making a face at me.....Touche', Cody, touche'!!

Don't date boys from Texas!!

A couple weeks ago I agreed to go on a double date with my roommate and her friend Jake, and his old mission companion. It was for Saturday night after my roommate got off work- which was around 10PM....late date meaning I wasn't going to miss the Yankee's game. Well, my homeboys decided to keep the score tied and go into extra innings....not one, not two....but FOUR EXTRA INNINGS!! It was killing me, especially since I don't have cable in my apartment and I was trying to listen to the game on my dinky little radio. The boys finally arrived while I was listening to the game, it was a very intense part so I was a bit preoccupied. They asked me what I was doing so I told them and my date says...."Oh we were watching that game earlier. That 'Jetter' is way good." Really? Um, you don't have to be a Yankees fan to know that Derek Jeter's last name is pronounced "JEEEEEEEEEETER!!" I about had a heart attack!! But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and went on the date anyway.

We get to the car and my date opens the back door for me to get in then he got in the front seat. Hmmmm, me and my roommate Heather sat next to each other in the back while the boys sat in front.....Really? We got to the bowling alley and thank the heavens the peeps there were watching the game so I didn't miss much. While we were bowling the Yankees won, so I was able to concentrate and try to get to know this kid. He's from Texas and is a Cowboys fan......Strike THREE!! All I can say is thank goodness I was at home by midnight, because I couldn't handle this fella any longer!!

Never Stray from Your Hair Lady....

So, my hair was getting long and annoying.....it was to the point that it was really distracting me in class (where I have enough distractions without playing with my hair!). So I decided to get a coupon and take it to Hollywood Clips and get at $7 dollar haircut. Hey, I'm a college student, I likes to be savin my moneys!! Well, I soon found out that there are somethings that you can be stingy with and others that, like haircuts, you need done the right way even if it means spending more money.

The girl cut my hair and it looked nice until I went home and tried to style it....no bueno. So then of course, me being the 'independent' college student I am (wink, wink) felt as though I would be able to fix it myself. I learned another lesson, PUT THE SCISSORS DOWN AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!! Yeps, I screwed it up even more. That's not the best part though, in two days my family is taking family pictures.....we haven't done this in almost 3 years.....crap! I've tried to get in touch with my hair lady (AKA, the Amazing Tiffanie, AKA "The Hair Whisperer") but have had no such luck :(. Let's hope for da best!!
