DEAF!!

While recovering from my tonsillectomy, my voice was very off. In fact, it sounded as if I couldn't hear myself....in other words it sounded as if I were deaf. This is a bit of a hindrance when you factor in that I was receiving phone calls from possible employers. Thank goodness a family member or my fiance was there most of the time to answer the calls for me.....but of course, the most important phone call came when I was home alone. There was nothing I could do but answer. After saying hello there was a pause on the other end, then a puzzled the woman asked for me. I told her it was me and that I sounded funny because I just had my tonsils out. Man, was she relieved. I mean, just imagine ..... you dial a number and the person who answers sounds as if they were deaf....Really? Why is a deaf person answering the phone?! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh and I got the job!! SPED at Northridge High School baby!! I'm a teacher....WEIRD!!

New Jersey...who knew it was so entertaining?!

Under normal circumstances, there is no way anyone would catch me watching any of the television programs featuring the state of New Jersey. But getting your tonsils out and having hours and hours, days and days of nothing better to do....I was destined to be a Jersey Junkie. Now this doesn't mean I watch every Jersey show, no- only "Jerseylicious" and the "Jersey Shore"- I love Snookie. I still have my priorities and shun "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" and "Jersey Couture"- those are just not the real Jersey, I'm sorry!
Jersey Shore= TRAINWRECK No matter how hard you try, you can't help but watch it!! Whether it's Snookie.....just bein Snookie or it's Mike "The Situation" showing his abs for the millionth time... it's what I like to call "good comedy."
Jerseylicious= Girl fights what do you get when you mix a bald man who cuts hair; a crazy make-up lady, a mother-daughter managing team; a marriage/baby hungry hair stylist; a free spirit, jungle print loving make-up artist, and a BEEEEYOTCH hair stylist who hates the free spirit...even though they're the exact same person....except Beeeeeyotch has a good 60 lbs on the free spirit......The answer, my friends, is THE GATSBY SALON in Central Jersey. I would also accept, Robyn's guilty pleasure. It is true. I love Anthony and that shiny head of his. I sorta like Alexa with her crazy "glam fairy" antics and her countless "celebrity" stories. I love Gayle and Christy. Gayle is a fiery red-head who is about to become a grandmother, all thanks to Christy. I love GiGi and the fact that she puts up with her crazy boyfriend because she wants to be married and have lots and lots of babies. I LOVE OLIVIA!! Despite her nails, leopard/zebra print clothing, and overly tanned skin. She is hilarious and such a sweetheart....Now, I don't love Tracy....the Beeeeeyootch. She should be cut. I'm just saying, it's something that everyone wants to happen to her.
New Jersey has a whole culture of it's own, one I would love to explore. Thank goodness I had these shows to help me throughout my recovery...if not I would either be writing about cartoons or talk shows....barf.

The Man 'breathing" at the Airport.....

Adventures On Airplanes Pt. 4

Hi, my name is Robyn Lynne Jeppson. I am 22 years old. I'm not a ma'am. Thank you 15 yr old boy sitting next to me for calling me ma'am while squeezing by to use the rest room. I'm not old enough to be a ma'am. Boo.

Adventures On Airplanes Pt. 3

I was waiting for my last flight, I was so so ready to just be in my hotel room and go to sleep! There weren't enough seats at the gate, so I had to sit on the floor by one of the big windows. My flight was to Portland, so there were a few hippies waiting as well. One of them came and sat by me. I was on the phone with Travis and didn't really notice him until he started stretching and breathing! He stood up and reach up to the ceiling while he would inhale, then he would bring his arms down as he exhaled! And before starting the process over he would twitch his head to the side a couple times. So weird. He did this for like 7 minutes....all the while with a silly smile on his face. I don't care if it was relaxing for him or not, it was sure stressing me out!!

Adventures on Airplanes Pt. 2

I'm pretty small. Airplanes aren't too uncomfortable for me, so I do feel bad for those who do have trouble getting comfortable when flying. My dad is one of them, if you've met Papa Large....you can just imagine the poor guy flying!! Well, my dad is also not one to complain, no matter how uncomfortable he is or if he's in pain, he's a champ no matter what! I wish that everyone were like my dad....on one of my plane rides the man sitting in front of me was really tall, but also really skinny and he was having trouble getting comfortable. Instead of quietly and discretely moving around and situating himself, he made a big fuss over every single move he made!! Good heavens!! I had my head down on my tray table and he would throw all of his weight back and jostle his seat and my head!! Really?! Is that necessary?! NO!! If that wasn't enough, he had to make noises and loud sighs with every move he made. Instead of just him being uncomfortable....he had to make everyone around him uncomfortable. What a meanie!!

Adventures On Airplanes Pt. 1

So for my week off I flew down to Texas to visit my sweetheart! On the way back up to Oregon/Washington, I had quite the adventure!! Trav dropped me off at the Amarillo airport (very sad, I bawled!!) then I went on a rickety plane to the Dallas/Fort Worth airport. Lucky for me I had about a 2 1/2 hour lay-over AND guess what?! Bless the heavens!! There was a Mary Kay Cosmetics convention in Dallas so the the whole airport was just buzzing with highly motivated consultants traveling home!! Yay!! I had many a woman come up to me to "consult" with me about my make up situation.....I was an easy target though seeing that I wasn't wearing any make up whatsoever. I now have a lovely collection of pink business cards living in my wallet. Thank you Mary Kay for making the world a more beautiful place, one make-up-less face at a time :)

Bathroom.

For the past two weeks all I've been using public restrooms. Today I got quite the scare.....when the lady in the stall next to me sat down on the toilet, it shook my toilet. Is that supposed to happen? I don't believe so. All I know is I got myself outta that situation ASAP because I did not want to meet the person capable of shakin all the toilets in the joint!!

Leprosy.

So this week I'm at the University of Puget Sound (UPS) in Tacoma, WA!! I got to come up early with my friend Tyler so we could meet with the campus and set up. When we got to my dorm, Tyler got my big heavy bag and took it to the door where I told him I could take it the rest of the way. My room was on the top floor, 64 steps up. No elevator. I did not realize this. What a joy it was taking my lovely bags to the top!!

After spending the night all by myself in a huge dormitory on a campus that looks like Hogwarts, I was ready for the rest of the counselors to get there! On Saturday we trained all of the new counselors and then partied it up at BC Ryan's house. Sunday was great. We got to the church building to find out that the ward was at a regional conference and we had to hurry and scramble to find another one. But the best part about Sunday was my weekly meeting with Amanda and Tyler. As I was chatting with two of my favorite people, my arms were insanely itchy. Like ridiculously itchy. I couldn't even concentrate and talk because they were so itchy. Tyler and Amanda were laughing at me and we were all just dying - we figured that maybe I had bed bugs in my dorm room. So I changed my sheets and maintenance checked and it wasn't bed bugs, we concluded that I was probably allergic to something and was having a reaction. Well, it's Thursday night....I still have these bumps all over my hands and feet and legs and back!! Oh, and they itch like crazy no matter how much anti-itch cream I put on them! It's so bad that the kids don't want to sit by me in the meetings. They get freaked out when they see my poor hands and arms all covered in my disease. Yes, I'm a leper. I feel like that kid in elementary school who had warts all over his hands and nobody wanted to touch him. Hopefully these bumps go away soon because they be stressin me out!!

Vladmir.

So, my first week of EFY last week was one for the books. I was in charge of "Variety Show" and couldn't be more excited to see what the kids were gonna do! We had a girl perform ASL to Party in the USA, a unicyclist, a magician, and then there was Vladmir. Oh Vlad!! He was hilarious. His family moved to America from Russia when he was pretty little and now they live in Arizona. He is short and stalky and has braces, quite the 14 year old. For Variety Show we got Vlad to do a dance from the movie Hot-Rod. He even got fliers to make it more realistic, except there was one problem. This dance has quite the suggestive moves seeing as all the dance entails is hip-thrusting. I explained to Vlad that he could only move his arms and it took him a while to get the hang of it, but he finally did. Right before the show he got cold feet, but I gave him a pep-talk and he did it. He was the star of the show....and of the week. I miss Vlad.

Old Man.

Greetings loved ones!! Just a little bit of an update....this summer I'm a Building Coordinator for EFY- basically I'm a counselor to the counselors and I plan the activities. Last week me and my team of BC's and the Field Coordinators were in Forest Grove, OR at Pacific University. It was quite the experience. The coordinators, Tyler and Amanda, picked me up from the airport and then we went straight to the University for a meeting with the team. In the middle of our meeting an old man walked into the room asking if we knew where the attic was located....Huh? This man was about 70-80 ish....then he proceeded to tell us that 50 some-odd years ago when he was living and going to school at PU someone stole his sheets and that he wanted to check the attic for them. I nick-named him "Mr. Lost His Sheets." Later that same afternoon we were in another meeting training the counselors when Mr. Losthissheets came in again! He burst through the door and walked right up to the front of the room and proceeded to show us and tell us all about the brand new medal around his neck! Then he swore a few times and left. Wow. Now I wish I could say that this was the last run in with Losthissheets, but it wasn't. As a campus tour was going, the kind sir was up in his dorm room changing his shirt, so naturally he decided to "shake-it" in front of all the EFY counselors. It turns out Losthissheets was there for an alumni ceremony and the building where we were at was where the "nap rooms" were. Yep. They had nap rooms for the alumni weekend because they knew that the old people would be getting tired and need a little napper....I just knew that this was only the beginning of a fantastic week.

The Golfing Asian.

After church on Sunday I decided to take the dog for a walk. (It seems that a lot of my stories come from experiences with this dog.....and they tend to be a little racist. My bad.) There is a new trail that goes along the east side of the West Bountiful Lakeside golf course, just west of where my dad grew up, and it's where a railroad track used to be that I played on when I was little with my best friend, Rachael. Yes, we played on railroad tracks....get over it. Anyways, as we near the golf course I see a little Crasian (Crazy Asian). She is in her mid-twenties, wearing long leggings with a flowing skirt and top with no shoes. It was very windy that day so she was already a mess, but then she started to run. We all know that golf is a legitimate sport, right? But you don't see people run in this sport unless you are watching or re-enacting the character played by Adam Sandler in "Happy Gilmore." Every time this Crasian would hit the ball, which was seldom and not very far, she would then run at full-speed to go and hit it again. I was fascinated. Was this her first time playing? Do they have golf where she's from? Why did that man she is with think it was a good idea to bring her golfing? Were they on a date? I don't know any of the answers to these questions, and frankly I don't care because every time I get sad I can think back and imagine the Crasian playing her very own rendition of the sport of golf.

I've Been Shot.

My sweet boyfriend is in North Carolina this summer selling security systems to a bunch of people in the ghetto. Most of these people are black, in fact, he told me last night that he's starting to not like white people. He says that "they think too much, black people don't- they just buy." hahahaha
Needless to say I've been a little worried, especially when he tells me that he's in an area where there was a shooting just last week...... for the past two and a half weeks I've been thinking he's the one in danger when I found out on a walk with my dog, that I'm in more danger than him!!

I was walking my dog last week (I say this loosely because she gets so excited and ends up "walking" me) on the safe, quiet streets of good old West Bountiful, when a car drives by and a passenger in the backseat rolls his window down. It all happened so fast! One second I'm minding my own business and the next a black man with a gun is shooting me! I was stunned! I didn't wake up that morning with the idea that I might be involved in a drive-by shooting. My life flashed before my eyes....it wasn't until I heard a small giggle that I snapped out of it. I looked behind me and saw a 4 or 5 year old little black boy hanging out the window of the car with his brightly colored water gun still pointed at me.

If I can survive something like this, walking down the streets of the Bronx after dark will be nothing!!

BAD LUCK!!

So. The past few weeks have been filled with a whole lotta bad luck for me. First, the week before finals I get uber sick and find out I have mono.....and on top of that I get strep throat!! Next I find out from my adviser at school that we both overlooked a class that I need to take to graduate.....I was able to walk but I get to do an online class this summer- whoohoo!! The day after graduation, Mother's day, my boyfriend left for North Carolina for the next 3 months :( It's really sucked not having him!! He's the best!! Plus I can't do a whole lot because I'm a sicky and all I can think about is him....but I leave for EFY in 4 weeks so then I will be busy busy.

With all that has been thrown at me I've done pretty well, I've complained but I've tried to keep that to a minimum until last Wednesday night. I went up to Logan to work a few shifts at my old job. I started with the 3-10pm shift with my favorite clients, then I had to work the grave shift, 12-9am, at another client's. The first shift was kind of hard because it was sunny outside and my cute clients just wanted to watch tv and I was tired of sitting. But nothing could have prepared me for the grave shift. Before going to the house I went to Walmart and bought myself a small blender and some things to make a protein shake (I love protein shakes). I got to my client's and left all my stuff in the car and waited until after I checked on her to go out and get everything. When I went and got everything out of my car, I left my key on the backseat and out of habit locked the doors. CRAP!! So I called the Logan police and the dispatcher said that the police officers don't carry the equipment anymore to unlock car doors and that I'd have to call a locksmith. Shoot-dang. I called a Locksmith. Really?! It's gonna cost 50-75 bucks?! No way man! So I called one of my best friends in the whole world and asked if he could come and help me. He did. He even brought one of our other friends. After a good hour and a half in the cold night with freezing winds.....a miracle happened and they got my keys out!! Seriously it shouldn't have worked, but every time I went in to check on my client I said a prayer!! I was so grateful for those boys!! They were my heroes!!

So, by 5AM Thursday morning, I was feeling really sick so I called the manager and she came in at 6 AM so I could go home. I was staying with my best friend, Jess, where she was house-sitting. Of course she wasn't awake at 6:15 AM so I called, texted her, and knocked on the door...no response. I was so tired that I just decided to get in my car and sleep until she woke up ;) While I was sleeping I missed a call from my sweet boyfriend who was checking to make sure everything was okay after he woke up to all of my frantic texts about my stupid keys!! But it gets worse! Jess came out and woke me up so I could go in and go back to sleep in the house. I was very tired and got my blanket and bag and went in. Once we got in the house Jessica asked about how I locked my keys in my car....I froze. I dropped my things and ran out to my car. Sure enough I had done it again. My doors were locked and the keys in the ignition. REALLY?! I about died!! I was so dead that I went to sleep and decided to worry about it when I woke up.

I called a locksmith and talked him down to charging me only $25 to unlock the stupid car. He felt bad for me when I told him my story and took pitty on me. I was okay with that. These 24 hours were pretty rough, but I got through it and was ready for anything else that was thrown at me.....except when I got an email informing me that the U2 concert on June 3rd has been postponed because Bono had to have back surgery. Icing on the cake. I cried. I've been waiting for this concert since I was 6 years old. Boo. All I can say is that if it is rescheduled for while I'm in Oregon/Washington this summer, I will not be a happy camper!!

GrAdUaTiOn

If you're wondering if I really wore these old 3-d glasses without any lenses the whole day, I did. Yep, I had to make my mark somehow and I told my mom that it was either the glasses or I would change my name on my card to "Robyn Bird Jeppson" .....s
he felt the glasses were more dignified.

I love my sweet parents and all that they've done for me....without them I wouldn't have graduated from college!! It has always been their dream to have all of their children graduate with a Bachelor degree....done! The day before I graduated my brother, Clint, got his Masters from the U of U and about 4 years ago my oldest sister, Sara, received her Masters from there as well. Well done parentals, you've taught us well!! I LOVE YOUS!!

Imma be all Growed UP!!

Yes, it is true. I, Robyn Lynne Jeppson, have graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. Wow. Graduation was just fabulous! I started the morning by going up to the quad to wait in the coldness to walk to the ceremony with my fellow grads. While we were waiting, there were tents set up with orange juice, ho-cho, pears, muffins, and other pastries. I decided to grab a pear. As I was eating it I was chatting with my roommate Dee and our friend Ann. It was such a scrumptious pear. After taking a picture and hiding it behind my back I looked at it before I took another bite. What I saw shocked me....it was half of the produce sticker. Yes, I had eaten the other half in my previous bite. Here I am about to graduate from a university and I eat a sticker. Really?!

Owl City Concert = A Crowd Full of 12-17 yr Olds and Their Parentals....

Last night I went to the "Owl City" concert at Saltair. It was way fun, but only because I went with Travis and we made it fun. After running through the rain and wind and then waiting in line at will-call, we finally made it into the concert. As we looked around we noticed a sea of braces, acne, and hyper children. But don't worry because we also saw bored, wrinkled, bugged parentals. Perfect conditions, right?! So we get in the crowd and finally settle into a spot when I looked over and saw the most glorious sight of all....an Asian teenage boy. He was so happy to be there. He had glasses and in true Asian-fashion, a camera to record every song!! When he started singing the words to all the songs, I knew I was in love.
If you're starting to feel bad for Travis because I found my soul-mate, don't. He had two "hip" mothers drooling over him!! Yep, they followed us around THE WHOLE CONCERT!! They were so excited to see the band and be in the teenage scene. It was really hard to navigate through this concert because everyone just stood there and didn't move....at all. Me and Travis (and the moms) were the only ones dancing. We taught "the moms" how to mosh- talk about funny! Then we were joking about having them crowd-surf to the front and they got even more excited. Wow.
All I can say is that I don't think I will be forgetting that experience any time soon!!

The Highway: The New Way to Meet Fellas?

For spring break about a month ago me and my friend Aimee decided to go to Vegas and St. George. As we were driving between Cedar City and St. George, I got bored and started taking random pictures......While taking these, a car of 3 boys drove by.....For some strange reason they like what they saw and started playing "tag" with us by slowing down and speeding up. It was hilarious. I turned to Aimee and jokingly said "Hey, we should write our numbers on a piece of paper and put it in the window!!" Welp, the next thing we know, the boy in the backseat of the other car rolled down his window and stuck out a piece of paper with a number on it! Bahahahahahaha, I just about died! Of course I got my phone out and we started texting them!! So great and so random!! It turns out these guys are mission buddies and were going to Vegas to chill and ride roller-coasters. We even met up with them that night at the NY,NY roller-coaster and hung out with them afterward! They were way fun....and I may or may not be kinda dating one of them now....;)

Happy Easters!!

Wake-UP Call

This morning I was very "out-of-it." I kept hitting the snooze button because I just couldn't motivate myself to get out of bed. Well, my alarm went off, for the 4th time, and I went to shut it off but.....I didn't realize I had turned over, so when I leaned over I smacked my head against the wall....nose first!! I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!! It actually turned out to be just what I needed to wake me up ;) Really.

FuNnY Papa Large!!

So, my dad is HILARIOUS!! He makes "dad jokes" and cracks himself up, his clothing choices are sometimes unimaginable (does he look in the mirror?), and some conversations with him are like being lost in a maze....you don't know what direction he is going or when he'll come to a dead-end. But I still love him. All Six feet, four inches and 275? pounds of him ;)

Last week I got a text message from my mother, it read: "Dad bought himself overalls today."
I almost peed my pants....those who have seen and met my dad, just imagine him in overalls and a smile will immediately come to your face. When I went home this last weekend I asked him about his overalls. "Well, I thought they would be cool. I mean who doesn't have a pair of bib-overalls?" Um....most people over the age of 4 don't have them, Papa Large!! HAHAHAHA "But I took them back. They were too short." All I can say is bless the heavens he took them back!! He did take one outing in them though, he walked the dog. Poor Ange had to be seen with my dad in bib-overalls. My mom said that the pup didn't get any sleep that night because she kept having nightmares about the overalls!! Hahahahaha, Mumsy is funny too!!

Yesterday I went to church with the parentals and during fast and testimony meeting I think my Papa's goal was to make me wet myself. One guy got up and took FOREVER to spit out a sentence....so my dad leaned over and whispered "He's such a good public speaker." BAHAHAHAHA And then a woman got up and was talking about a friend who was so giving, she gave and gave and gave! So my dad whispered "I wonder if this woman was a generous or giving person?" BAHAHAHAHAHA

Here are a few of his popular "one liners" some of which he uses all the time!!
1. If someone farts...."Your voice has changed, but your breath smells the same."
2. If he's holding a baby who is farting....."Well hey there thunder britches!"
3. Kissing on tv...."Ew, he's kissing her where she spits!"
4. Too much information....he learned how to shorten it to "TMI" he thinks he's cool by using it.
5. When describing an unfortunate looking woman..."She would make a train take a dirt track!"
6. After I threw a sock at him....."Ah, you socked me!" Then he laughed for 20 minutes.

I will add more as I remember them....My dad is the best! Not only is he funny, but he's smart, Honest, dependable, a hard worker, talented and a great provider. I'm lucky to have this man as my father, no, I'm honored to call him my father. He's taught me so much and I could never thank him enough. But I'd have to say, the best decision he ever made was marrying my Mumsy. You put these two together....and it feels like a comedy festival...and they don't even know/try!!

Cute and Funny Boys!!

Last Monday I was home to go to the dentist, but more importantly for my nephew, Carter's, fourth birthday!! My mom picked my nephews up from school and took them to my house and I picked up my niece Katie, because their mommas had parent/teacher conferences. Me and Katie got home before grammy and the boys, so we napped.....it was so sweet....I love that angel!! Then the boys got home.....Katie slept most of the time, but I decided to play with them. I took Matterz (Matt, 18 months) outside to see the pony that my neighbors have. Matterz loves it! He loves being outside and seeing any animals, he just points and makes "Ooohhhh" sounds! Carter decided to come out with us. I was asking them if they liked the pony and Carter turned to me and said....."Auntie Robyn, that's not a pony. That is a lion." It was so funny! The pony is a miniature one and it's crazy hair did make it look like a lion. I love those kiddies!!

Matterz with the "Lion."

Riding in the car!! Such cute nephs I have!!

The Dentist.....Another Tale.

Okay, so Dr. Looney Toone really pushed it this time.....really. First, I get a shot to numb me up. Instead of leaving while it starts to kick in, Dr. Looney Toone just stayed and decided to chat. And what was the topic? None other than gays and locker room showers! REALLY?! He was talking about how in high school (80 yrs ago) he played a lot of sports, a lot....and how he was always showering in the locker room with other guys. Back then you didn't have to worry about anything because everyone maintained eye-contact....but now-a-days, you have to watch out. Really? What made him think he could talk about that? Ew.

As always, there is plenty more where that came from. I was his first patient of the day and he decided to inform me that the "theme of the day" in his office was Excellence. In honor of the Olympics, he decided to lecture me on striving to be excellent. "Robyn, I know a figure skater from the Czech Republic and you should see his house. He built all the cabinets, staircases, wood floors, everything! And he can still skate even though he's old. He's probably about the same age as Scott Hamilton, maybe even older. He is in such better shape than Scott, I bet Scott doesn't still skate as much as my friend! He can still do all the jumps in the air and everything! Plus he knows 4 languages, he is just excellent." Yep, he went there. Too bad not only his hands were in my mouth, but also the assistant's so I couldn't inform him that the reason why Scott Hamilton isn't in as good shape as Looney's 'friend' is because he battled cancer....and he won.....bet Mr. Excellent hasn't done that!!

Oh, Dr. Looney Toone.....who are you?! REALLY?!!!

Burstin My Bubble in Swim Class

Today in swim class, to my dismay, Splashy McGee was in the lane next to me. Seriously though, this homeboy is like 6'4", very chatty/annoying, and he splashes.......waaaaay too much!! While I was doing laps I would have to stop when I passed him. You know it's pretty ridiculous when I look up at the lifeguard and the expression on his face says..."Really? You need to calm yourself down, sir, before you drown the poor girl in the next lane...." After finishing our laps, we got to play a game in the deep end and Splashy McGee was very excited. Bless the heavens he wasn't on my team because I couldn't handle him....or at least that's what I thought. Me and a couple other guys on my team were guarding the gutter (a.k.a. the goal) and Splashy McGee comes over and gets behind me and starts to "chest bump" my back. Splashy McGee was starting to become Splashy Mc-all in my business!! It also helps that we're in swimming suits. He's guarding me as if we are playing basketball....I turn and give him "the look." He then says, "Oh, I'm just trying to block you out." Really?! I believe it's very unnecessary for you to be all "rubbin" up next to me when the ball is on the other end of the pool. Ew. Thanks Splashy.

Mardi Gras Mishap!!

So.....a couple weeks ago USU had their famous Mardi Gras celebration!! So exciting, let me tell ya! Before the festivities there was a basketball game, which we won of course. We get to Mardi Gras and were in line to buy our tickets. I get to the front and hand the girl my USU ID card and money. As she hands the card back she says, "Even though that's a boy's ID, I'll still let you in and let this one slide." Um......nope!! It was definitely MY student ID, in my picture my hair is pulled back....but it is me! I said, "Nope, this is my ID...my hair is pulled back." So I gave it back to her and she looks at it....then she looks at me. Then to save the situation she says, "well you're just so gorgeous that this picture doesn't do you justice." Thanks, homegirl, too bad you already called me a boy. Really?!

ME

Info about the Spaz behind RobynJFunnies.....

My name is Robyn (Robby) Jeppson.
I'm almost 22 years old.
I was born in Bountiful, UT.
I grew up in West Bountiful UT.
I'm a senior at Utah State University, graduating this May....Woot Woot!!
I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology....with an emphasis in playing outside and laughing.
I LOVE baseball. World Series 2009...best ever. I've been a Yankees fan for....forever. My brother served an LDS mission in the Bronx and lived next to the stadium...I was jealous. I worked in Upstate NY for 2 summers and got to see a couple games.......it was a dream come true!!
I'm the youngest of 4, I have 2 sisters and 1 brother.
My parents are hilarious. They don't even have to try.
My dad is 6'4" and I call him "Papa Large."
My mumsy is 5'2".....she so little and cute!!
I love my parents, they are the best people. My dad is a retired police chief and is now an investigator for the state of Utah. He is the most honest person I've ever known....it would never even occur to him to make up a lie. My mumsy is a first grade teacher, her patience, kindness and love is astonishing.
My oldest sister, Sara, is the best example....ever!! She is the best person to talk to, about anything! My whole life I've looked up to her and have wanted to be just like her.....I owe her a lot!! She is so adventurous, friendly, kind, happy.....the list goes on! She and her husband, Mike, have two little boys that melt my heart.
My brother, Clint, is one of my heroes. He is hilarious, smart, and a very, very hard worker!! He is a part-time firefighter on the weekends, works full-time during the week and is going to school full-time as a grad student with a scholarship at the UofU. Clint and his wife, Lisa, have a baby girl and are the cutest family!
My sister, Betsy, is one of my best friends. We hated each other growing up, but I don't know what I would do without her! Betsy and her dog, Angel, are a lot alike.....sometimes they drive me crazy, but I would do anything for them....even if it means walking them in the freezing cold!
My heart belongs to my two nephews Carter (almost 4) and Matt (16 mos). They are the only boys who are worthy of my heart....that I've met so far....
My niece, Katie, is the sweetest little angel and she's almost 1!! When she smiles, I forget all my troubles.
I love baseball.
I love adventure........
I love outside.
I LOVE MUSIC. WITHOUT MUSIC, I WOULD BE LOST.
I love the mountains.
Hiking, camping, kayaking, skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing, rafting......LOVE.
I love baseball.
I love doing crafts, but they can't be very long because I have ADD (I really do, not just saying that) and I have a hard time with long projects. My recent projects, knitting beanie hats, making friendship bracelets, making a book of pictures, sewing, quilting......etc.
I have the most amazing friends and family in the world.
I love Rugby.
I have a huge gap in between my big toe and the next toe.....in high school while on a tour bus in Texas, I fit 38 pennies in the gap. Yep. Freaky
I'm legally blind in my left eye, I have amblyopia (lazy eye) and had to wear an eyepatch as a kiddie......very embarrassing!
I'm clumsy.
I'm a goof.
I love LIFE.
I love baseball.

DENTIST!!!!!

I was just reading the previous post to my sweet mumsy, when she reminded me of the "Holy Grail" of Dentist's ranting..... "I think that kissing is an STD. People don't start getting cavities until they are teenagers and start kissing each other." -Dentist. REALLY DENTIST?!!!!

So, um...... if your 7 yr. old gets a cavity- you're a terrible parent for letting your child kiss other 7 yr olds!! And that's the only explanation, because of what Dentist told me on that fateful day before Thanksgiving in 2009.

DeNtIsT

So.... the Tuesday before thanksgiving I woke up with a small toothache. As the day went on it got worse.....and worse! I was at work and was about to shoot myself because of the pain, when my co-worker told me to go to insta-care where I was prescribed lortab. I got home and took some, started a movie and waited for it to "kick-in." But it sure didn't!! I spent the rest of the night trying to fall asleep and stop crying. By 7 am on Wednesday I had had it! I texted my mom, because I couldn't even talk, and she came up to Logan and got me. SHE'S THE BEST MUMSY EVER!!

When we got back to Bountiful we had to wait a couple hours before the dentist could see me. It was the day before Thanksgiving so he had the day off, but was kind and came in to put me out of my misery. Here's where the humor of the situation begins, my dentist is a very interesting character. He loves, LOVES to talk about the most random things and is the slowest worker in the world, probably because he has the time to take.....because he doesn't have a huge clientele.

Before getting in the chair I knew it was going to be a very long emergency root canal, but I didn't care because the pain was too much to handle. After numbing me, I was a happy camper so Dentist decided to start yappin away. Here is a list of things he talked about:

1. How SNL used to be funny because of a certain girl, Barbara?
- Tina Fey was such a good "Sarah Palin" -Dentist
- Sarah Palin wouldn't make a good President, she should be at home taking care of her children.....who "obviously" need their mother. -Dentist
- Reagan was a good President, same with FDR. We need more men like them. -Dentist

2. Thanksgiving
-Making memories. "Robyn, you should spend as much time in the kitchen with your mother so you two can make memories."-Dentist
- Traditions. "I don't like yams, but they are always on the table. Nobody really even touches them, except for my oldest daughter, so she's making them this year. My family makes them with marshmallows on top, it makes them taste sweet."-Dentist

3. What do you wanna do when you grow up? -Dentist Me: "Be a clinical counselor for children and teenagers."
-His Psych 1010 class he took a million years ago as an undergrad. "Did I ever tell you how I conditioned my Psych professor to look at me during class? It was funny, he didn't even know it."-Dentist
- Hypnosis. "I use a form of psychology everyday here at the office. Have you ever heard of hypnosis? I hypnotize my patients. I tell them that they will feel a little pinch so they are ready for it, then if it's a big pinch- they're okay with it because they already had it in their heads that it was only going to be a little pinch."-Dentist
-Coaching his daughter's soccer team. "When my youngest daughter was in elementary school I coached her soccer team. They were the red cherry bombs, because their uniforms were red. They weren't very good, except for my daughter- she was amazing. Once during half-time, we were down 2-0 and I said that I put 'red cherry bomb magic powder' on the orange slices. I then told them that I knew they would score in the first two minutes. And you know what? They did!! I kept that up and soon we were up by 2 goals! It worked. Maybe I should've gone into the Psychology field."-Dentist

Of course this is the Reader's Digest version because this went on for a good 3 hours. Oh, I almost forgot one of the best parts!! He thinks that it's still 1990, so he was wearing a Bill Cosby sweater with a white turtleneck underneath!! The arms were very stretched out, after 20 years, and every time he reached for a tool his sleeves not only grazed my face, but on a few occasions moved my whole head. Yep. Love it. What a man!!
